The Role

What you'll actually build

At Senbee, you'll help build and expand Senbee Connect, our platform that brings automation, interaction, and optimization together in one intelligent ecosystem. You'll work across PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript (and yes, occasionally HTML and CSS) to create reliable, maintainable extensions that make buildings smarter and customers happier.

You'll be hands-on from day one: building new features, improving existing ones, and helping onboard new customers by tailoring and deploying modules for their setup. The job mixes backend development with light frontend work, perfect if you enjoy seeing how the whole system connects from database to browser.

You'll join a small, ambitious team that moves fast, experiments freely, and values clean architecture over clever hacks. We're not looking for someone to just “do tickets”, we're looking for someone curious, collaborative, and ready to grow into a key part of Senbee's engineering culture.

What you'll do

Day to day

  • Build new features

    Develop and maintain new features and integrations for Senbee Connect across PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript.

  • Write clean code

    Write clean, documented PHP and JavaScript that's easy for the next person to build upon.

  • Build APIs & databases

    Build APIs, refine database structures, and optimize performance as the platform scales.

  • Onboard customers

    Assist with customer onboarding and ensure a smooth platform deployment for their setup.

  • Troubleshoot & review

    Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects, and join code reviews to keep quality high.

  • Shape our tooling

    Help shape our internal standards and tools, and stay current with the latest web technologies.

What we're looking for

Could this be you?

Required qualifications

  • Solid proficiency in PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript, with experience building and maintaining real web applications.
  • You use AI coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, etc.) as a natural part of your daily workflow and know how to get the most out of them.
  • A genuine interest in how AI and LLMs are reshaping software, and the drive to build with them rather than around them.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and good engineering judgement.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience integrating LLMs or AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) into production features.
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering, embeddings, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
  • Experience with version control (Git), RESTful APIs, and web service integration.
  • Familiarity with agile development and shipping iteratively.
